The making of a priced ‘Music Producer’

Noah Bature popularly known as Young Whizz is an upcoming producer and musician who produces most of his beats himself. He has an album titled "Birth of a Legend" that includes his two singles, ‘Twisted Personality’ and ‘Girl of My Dream’.
Bature told WEEKEND what a potential producer needs to know about producing music before venturing into the business. The tips he gave for starters in music production are: For starters, you need to have an ear for all genre of music. You have to love all kinds of music, be it Reggae, Hip-hop, Highlife or RnB. You also have to know the basics about music and instrumentation. The keys, pitch, notes, cords, major and minor keys and all that matters in music production. Having a creative mind is not dispensable. It is not enough to be an instrumentalist or know the basics about music as you will need to have a creative mind since it is a ‘secret’ to making you stand out. Then you will have to update yourself consistently. Be abreast of new musical technologies and the evolving trends to be versatile and fit in anywhere in the world.
And finally, you must have a signature way of producing beats that can be recognized everywhere. Always remember to look and dress the part, as it distinguishes you as a personality, and your beat a distinct, marketable product. DAILY TRUST WEEKEND
