4 Nigerians Among Best Phd Graduates In Malaysia

Four Nigerians are among those adjudged the best among 147 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduates from the International Islamic University (IIUM), Malaysia.
The award winning Nigerians are: Dr. Imran Adesile Moshood (Education), Dr. Aliyu Mukhtar Kastina (Political Science), Dr. Mohammed Baba Ndaliman (Engineering) and Dr. Raji Lateef Akintunde (Biosciences)
At the convocation held at Gombak, 4,853 students from 73 countries graduated with Diploma, Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees with 52 Nigerians graduating with various degrees. The number includes 26 PhD, 25 Master and one Bachelor degrees. The award winning Nigerians are: Dr. Imran Adesile Moshood (Education), Dr. Aliyu Mukhtar Kastina (Political Science), Dr. Mohammed Baba Ndaliman (Engineering) and Dr. Raji Lateef Akintunde (Biosciences). Imran’s thesis is entitled: “Modeling Academic Dishonesty among Undergraduates of Nigerian and Malaysian Public Universities,” Aliyu’s thesis is “Party Constitutions and Political Challenges in a Democracy: Nigeria in the Fourth Republic,1999-2011.” Mohammed’s dissertation is titled “Powder Metallurgy Compacted Electrodes of Electrical Discharge machining for Surface Modification of Titanium Alloy (Ti-6AL-4V) while Raji wrote on “Agronomy Breeding and Cytogenetic Studies in Stevia Rebaudiana Bertoni.” One of the award winners, Dr. Imran commended management of the university and Malaysian government for creating enabling environment that made learning conducive, rewarded hard work and promoted merit. At the ceremony, the IIUM Rector, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Zaleha Kamaruddin, said the university had equipped them with all facilities needed to transform the world. The Nigerian Ambassador in Malaysia, Alhaji Sheu Ringim represented by the Officer in-charge of Education, Mr. Adeniyi Oyemade, Nigerian in Diaspora Organisation and Malaysia (NIDOMY) President, Chief James Emarievbe among others graced the occasion.
