NIM generates N35m from widened membership drive ...to build ‘Village’ for Abuja members



The President and Chairman of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Dr Nelson Ozoukwu Uwaga has disclosed that the institute has generated about N35 million in its widened membership drive.

Dr Uwaga who said this recently at a dinner held in Abuja to mark his maiden visit to the North Central Zone of the institute enjoined members to renew their efforts to get more people to join the institute.

He also disclosed that the planned construction of a “NIM Village” in Abuja would solve the accommodation challenges faced by its members, adding that the village would promote the affairs of the institute as it would engender harmony and partnership among members.

The president noted that NIM is a recognised professional institute in the country and the world at large just as he urged members to embrace full professionalism in their various fields.

“The Nigerian Institute of Management is well known in this country and beyond. As an institute, we should feel very proud of ourselves and portray good example of ourselves as well,” he said.

He however tasked the North Central Zone to work in close partnership with other zones, adding that the zone had been very useful to the growth of the institute.

The Chairman, NIM North Central Zone, Dr Raymond Iheanacho commended the president’s visit to the zone just as he said the zone would continue to support the mission and objectives of the institute.

“You can count on us as we are one of the most viable zones in the country,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the NIM Maitama Chapter, Dr. John Ibe described the visit as a challenge for members to corroborate for progress and to ensure a stronger functionality.
  
Highlights of the president’s visit include a courtesy call to the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, the Executive Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), and the Executive Director, Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) in Abuja.
